BLADE _CONTROL ORIENTED WAVE

The Blade has defined the 5-batten wave sail category for nearly two decades.

With the new GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY improvements are obvious. Lighter weight and better stability.

Corners have overlapped panels which reduces the amount of patching. At the same time, these overlapped areas extend into the body of the sail so it transitions the load much better, will be less stretched over time. It’s a more stable way of building sails.

Rather than a single curved luff panel, the Blade uses separate panels that radiate out of the head and tack corners. This perfectly aligns the sail material with the direction of load. Previously the curved panel would have bias stretch in all the wrong places. Direct transmission of power. Increased longevity. Total Control.

With the new GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY improvements are obvious. Lighter weight and better stability.

Using the new GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY. Corners have overlapped panels which reduces the amount of patching. At the same time these overlapped areas extend into the body of the sail so it transitions the load much better, will be less stretch over time. It’s a more stable way of building sails.

The GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY logically reduces weight, increases strength and controls stretch. Overall weight is reduced but the more significant improvement is the feel – quicker reacting and lighter feel.

DISPATCH: All items are dispatched from our Gosport Store and will experience a 24hr delay where we are closed on Tuesdays. Any orders taken after 1pm on Friday and over the weekend will be dispatched on Monday.

EU and Worldwide Postage: EU and Worldwide items are priced without VAT. Our webstore is not setup for orders outside the UK but if you would like to purchase from us please email us with your details and we will reply with a postage quote. Payment is required by Bank Transfer.

RETURNS: Use the address below for returns. If a refund is required we will refund only the value of the item(s) and not the postage. The new S-1 is built on the exact same pattern as the S-1 Pro but uses VX2 and eM3 laminate materials to reduce cost with only 150g added weight*. The GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY logically reduces weight, increases strength and controls stretch. Overall weight is reduced but the more significant improvement is the feel – quicker reacting and lighter feel. Rather than a single curved luff panel, the S-1 uses separate panels that radiate out of the head and tack corners. This perfectly aligns the sail material with the direction of load. Previously the curved panel would have bias stretch in all the wrong places. Direct transmission of power. Increased longevity. The boom length has been shortened on bigger sizes (4.8 and up) to reduce the back-hand pressure that builds up as the wind increases. Instead, the power has been shifted up in the sail giving more leverage to accelerate instantly in light winds.

Developed with Gonzalo Costa Hoevel (ARG-3) and Matteo Iachino (I-140) for the new world of foil racing, the HyperGlide 5 is set to become the most complete foil racing sail to date. In sizes 5,0 – 8,0 the HyperGlide 5 is focused on full power slalom where top-end velocity and precision control make the difference between victory or carnage. Sizes 9,0 – 10,0 offer a tighter leech and deeper draft for extreme upwind/downwind performance. Added power and the ability to point enable you to ride a smaller foil set-up in lighter winds; the key to going fast. A bigger sleeve provides the stability needed to handle the added power and improve low-end, as well as, upwind performance. Regulated backhand pressure means power is always available when needed.
