The Blade delivers 5-batten stability without the traditional weight compromise. Forward driving profiles and reduced backhand pressure mean slight wind variations go unnoticed. The sail does the work; you focus on sailing.

The 026 Blade has been rebuilt from the ground up to increase power and integrate the latest development concepts:

XR Xtended Range: Developed to increase wind range at both the lower AND higher ends. Deeper, more powerful profiles are locked in place with added skin tension to enhance control and stability.

Fat Head: Originally developed for the S-1, the increased head roach opens further under load, improving high-end control and wind range. Smaller sizes have relatively fatter heads whilst bigger sizes balance the head size for better aero efficiency.

DirectConnect: A system of directly connecting the load points of the sail to any hardware – masts, battens and boom. Zero lag means the sail reacts instantly to rider input.

CarbonFusion Trickle-Down: The BladePro construction is trickling down into the Blade, with welded foot panels and carbon load transfer strips in the head and tack.

Gradient Panel Technology: Overlapped corners logically reduce weight, increase strength and control stretch.

The 026 Blade sets a new standard by integrating these design concepts with industry-leading materials, including VX2, SpiderFibre, eM4 as well as the new D6 Dacron in the luff.

The Blade is the control-oriented wave sail for any conditions.

GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY

With the new GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY improvements are obvious. Lighter weight and better stability.

Using the new GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY. Corners have overlapped panels which reduces the amount of patching. At the same time these overlapped areas extend into the body of the sail so it transitions the load much better, will be less stretch over time. It’s a more stable way of building sails.

The GRADIENT PANEL TECHNOLOGY logically reduces weight, increases strength and controls stretch. Overall weight is reduced but the more significant improvement is the feel – quicker reacting and lighter feel.

Rather than a single curved luff panel, we use separate panels – split luff – that radiate out of the head and tack corners. This perfectly aligns the sail material with the direction of load.

Previously the curved panel would have bias stretch in all the wrong places. Direct transmission of power. Increased longevity.

 

VERTICAL XPLY 2.0MIL.

Severne has lead the materials revolution from the beginning. Many of the materials that we have designed in-house are widely imitated and now considered industry standard. VX2 is the latest development in our quest to improve wave sail performance through superior materials.

/ MATERIAL
VX2 is a vertically oriented X-Ply featuring increased fibre density for stability and control, reduced film thickness for less weight, and our proven scrim layer for dependable durability. The 2 signifies the film thickness in mil.

/ ADVANTAGES
VX2 laminate significantly reduces deformation in the sail compared to eM3 material. The vertical stretch has been reduced by more than 20% whilst the horizontal stretch characteristics have increased fractionally to enhance the elastic springy feel that has defined the SV wave sails.

Developed with Gonzalo Costa Hoevel (ARG-3) and Matteo Iachino (I-140) for the new world of foil racing, the HyperGlide 5 is set to become the most complete foil racing sail to date. In sizes 5,0 – 8,0 the HyperGlide 5 is focused on full power slalom where top-end velocity and precision control make the difference between victory or carnage. Sizes 9,0 – 10,0 offer a tighter leech and deeper draft for extreme upwind/downwind performance. Added power and the ability to point enable you to ride a smaller foil set-up in lighter winds; the key to going fast. A bigger sleeve provides the stability needed to handle the added power and improve low-end, as well as, upwind performance. Regulated backhand pressure means power is always available when needed. Less structural rigidity gives a bigger sweet-spot, and allows the sail to auto-correct during wave-riding by giving the draft just enough movement to ensure constant power delivery. Developed on an identical platform as the S-1 Pro, this S-1 replicates the dynamic performance in a more accessible construction. Skin tension has been increased on the larger sizes to allow for a wider range of rigging options; / Minimal downhaul for light wind power. Still maintains enough tension to stop the sail from distorting over chop or landing jumps. / Maximum downhaul for even better top end stability.
